  9. This is a freely distributable video sequence player program
  10. for the EGS graphic system. Please note that there are currently
  11. some limitations, which will be gone in future releases.
  12.  
  13. * EGS-TV-Player shows all sequences in the EGS-TV-Sequence format
  14.   direct from hard disk. The memory usage is very low this way
  15.   (also memory is needed to hold a frame in full size as loaded
  16.   and in converted form for EGS). Since version 2.0 also random
  17.   access harddisk sequences (generated by EGS-TV Professional) can
  18.   be shown.

  20. * EGS-TV-Player does not depend on the vlab.library. It has its own
  21.   very high quality (21Bit) color decoding routines. It can also show
  22.   sequences in greyscales.
  23.  
  24. * EGS-TV-Player accepts a file name as argument when started from CLI
  25.   or pops up a file requester when started from workbench or without
  26.   CLI parameter.

  28. * EGS-TV-Player shows the sequence in a loop, until the close button
  29.   of the window is pressed.

  31. * EGS-TV-Player runs in a window on the EGS-Default-Screen.

  33. * You can start EGS-TV-Player several times concurrently to watch
  34.   several sequences at the same time.

  36. * Please note that EGS-TV-Player runs fastest on 24Bit-Screens even if
  37.   you view a sequence in greyscales. This is because the EGS-System
  38.   dithers on lower screen depths, which takes lots (!) of time.

  40. A demo sequence is supplied in the egstvplayer-archive. This sequence
  41. has been generated with

  45. the ultimate Video Editing, DeskTopVideo, Blue-Box-Effect and
  46. Framegrabber software for the EGS graphic system and VLab-framegrabbers.

  48. It shows a standard rubber flying through a Norwegian landscape.
  49. This has been done with the blue screen effect. Please note the passage
  50. at the end of the sequence, where you can see the rubber two times
  51. concurrently. This has been done by applying the blue box effect
  52. a second time. With this technic any number of new foreground
  53. layers can be applied to a background sequence.

  55. For more information, take a look at EGS-TV. EGS-TV is shareware,
  56. the professional version (including harddisk recording) can be
  57. registered for only 30US$ (in europe: 40DM). To generate sequences,
  58. which fit into your memory, you can also use the classical version
  59. of EGS-TV, which only costs 20US$ (in europe: 25DM).

  71. I tried my best to make this program error-free. It has been checked
  72. with enforcer and mungwall and works without problems on my configuration.
  73. Nevertheless, as there are so many possible configurations of Amigas
  74. and EGS-Systems, I can not guarantee that this software
  75. will work on your configuration. Especially the complex EGS-System
  76. does not have the desired stability in some situations. In cases
  77. where I found problems with EGS, I tried to workaround them, or
  78. explained them in the documentation.

  97. This version of EGS-TV-Player may be freely distributed as long as the

  119.    pay for the program itself but only for the duplication service.
